Medical Coordinator

Megan is new to the Board of Directors, but has been a GRRSWF volunteer for several years. In addition to aiding with the medical aspects of the rescue process, she and her husband have served as foster parents, transporters and participated in events. As a child, Megan dreamed of owning a Golden Retriever and when she met her husband, the first dog they got together was a Golden named Sunny.

Megan became acquainted with GRRSWF while working as a Veterinary Nurse. She is currently the Operations Manager at The Animalife Veterinary Center at Mission Hills in Naples, Florida. She is a Certified Veterinary Technician with various accomplishments to her name, including a BA in Environmental Studies from Rollins College, an AS in Veterinary Technology from St. Petersburg College, Fear Free Certification, and a certification in veterinary ultrasonography from Oncura Partners. She also completed an assignment with the US Peace Corps.

Megan resides with her husband Adam, daughter Hanna, their 3 Golden Retrievers, Rowdy, Julie and Rosie and two cats, Caesar and Fire-Blaster. In addition to serving as a foster home for Goldens, the Abadir family hosts litters of kittens for the Gulf Coast Humane Society.
