Cathy Cottrill
Intake & Social Media Coordinator

An award-winning journalist since 1981, Cathy is employed by Florida Weekly as a copy editor.

Cathy serves as GRRSWF’s intake coordinator, working with shelters and owners throughout the state to help rescue goldens in need. She is also the organization’s Facebook manager and assists the rescue with public relations.

Cathy fell in love with golden retrievers in 1982 when her first one – a unforgettable golden named John Doe – wandered into her life.

A former dog groomer, she has trained and shown dogs in obedience since 1970. Cathy has been owned and loved by 13 rescue goldens over the past 37 years. She is currently the mom of Rose, Roxanne, Honey and Fenway. She and her partner Jay also have six cats and a dressage horse named Stella.
