Jeanine Thomson
Secretary, Adoptions Coordinator

Jeanine is a founding member of GRRSWF and is a Business Intelligence Developer for Aaron’s Inc. Prior to that she was working for the Polk County Sheriff’s department in their IT section.

As the adoptions coordinator for GRRSWF she is the liaison for the newly approved and returning adoptive homes. This position works closely with the foster coordinator along with the applications team to find the best homes possible for our rescues.

She and her husband have been fostering golden retrievers for over eight years. She has been an approved handler for Therapy Dogs Inc. for over thirteen years and has served as a tester/observer for Alliance of Therapy Dogs for the past eleven years. She also works closely with dog trainers to aid in the rehabilitation of foster dogs.

In addition to all of her volunteer work, Jeanine is also the owner of four therapy dogs, all of whom have earned their Canine Good Citizen titles. Jeanine and her husband make weekly visits to nursing homes, hospitals, children’s programs and reading programs. She also trains and shows dogs in agility and in nose work.
