6/17 Oliver is our golden/collie mix. We estimate him to be about 8 years old. Oliver is a very independent, sweet boy. He is a very easy dog to have around. He is very laid back, easy going and is happy just sitting by your side or nearby. He likes to be pet and brushed! He also loves, loves going for walks and car rides. He has good manners and can go anywhere with you a dog is allowed. He gets a along with everyone, dogs, cats, kids. Oliver isn't a dog that plays with toys but will play with a tennis ball from time to time. He doesn't engage in play with other dogs, but he enjoys the company of other dogs.
Oliver's perfect forever home is with a couple that is home most of the time whether retired or works from home and has at least one other dog. We don't recommend young children only because Oliver has gone through extensive spine, foot and hip surgery from being hit by a car that he has now fully recovered from He likes children for sure, but for his safety and a young child, it is best he is with young adult children and not very young children. He loves his walks and car rides, so his forever family must like to walk!

All GRRSWF dogs have undergone a full examination by a veterinarian, and any health concerns have been addressed. If you live OUTSIDE of our service area and are interested in adopting one of our dogs, please note that we will only consider an application for senior dogs (over the age of 8) or dogs with special needs (usually medication). BEFORE submitting your application, send an email to info@GRRSWF.org to request an exception to our service area. If that approval is given, you will be asked to complete an application, clearly stating on it that you are interested in a special needs or senior dog. However, please be aware that, unfortunately, there are some locations we simply cannot cover because we do not have sufficient representation in those areas to perform the required home visits prior to the adoption, or follow-up visits afterward.
