I’m Pretty Penny, and I love long walks, car rides, being in the water and playing with toys like Kongs.  I’m cute as a button, and will admit to being about 7 years old…a lady never tells.  I’m somewhat petite, at 47 pounds, and am in excellent health. AND I’m obedience-trained and thrive on attention and stimulation by a person who is calm and assertive. I really need a foster or adoptive home without other dogs, cats or children. Does this sound like you?

Robyn Metcalf, a wonderful dog trainer, was kind enough to assess Penny for us, and gave us valuable information about our pretty girl. First and foremost, despite Penny’s stress being boarded (she needs a foster or adoptive home), Robyn found her to be a sweet girl who is friendly, warm, smart and outgoing. She is quick to seek affection, and she’s a “leaner” who seems to like everyone she meets. Penny doesn’t like being caged in the boarding environment, however, and is reluctant to go back into her run after being outside. Robyn says she resists this because she is very stressed by the confinement. We would love to find Penny a dog-savvy foster family as soon as possible so that she can be de-stressed and begin training. This sweet girl would do well in the right home with fosters/adopters who are well tuned to handling her training needs so that she has a structured environment. Robyn says patience and consistency will be key, and she is happy to help Penny make the transition into a home. If you are an approved foster and would like to help Penny on her journey, please contact Jeanine or Lynette. If you are not yet approved and live in SW or Central Florida, please go to www.grrswf.org and fill out an application. We are committed to helping Penny find that perfect home so she can blossom and be happy again.
