Sara is about a year old and was rescued from a puppy mill. She is heartworm positive and weighs 42 lbs, but needs to gain weight. She gets along with dogs and cats and would probably do best with another dog. She is very timid right now but also very gentle. Sometimes even the water moving in a bowl startles her because she was not raised with love and affection. Despite her upbringing, she still wags her tail and wants to feel safe.  She will need a patient home to teach her the good things in life. Children will probably be to much stimulation for her, but teenagers would be ok. Sara often prefers to hang out in the yard, so a fenced area is a must for her.

~~~~All GRRSWF dogs have undergone an full examination by a veterinarian and any health concerns have been addressed. All dogs are current on vaccines, have been tested for heartworm and intestinal parasites, and are provided with monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventatives for the duration of their time with us. Unfortunately, much as we would like to, there are some locations that we are simply unable to cover as we do not have sufficient representation in that area to perform the required home visits prior to the adoption, or follow-up visits afterward.
