Nicky is a stunningly handsome 5-year-old flatcoat retriever who absolutely loves to play with toys! His foster mom reports that he empties the toy box in no time and always greets her at the door with a toy.

Nicky is a smart, affectionate vocal boy who adores playing with the goldens in his foster home. His bark and growl can sound scary, but it’s all in good fun. When he gets too rough, they easily put him in his place. 

He is obedient but easily distracted. He will go after ball, but does not retrieve. He does know basic commands: sit, down and off. He walks fairly well on a leash, but will pull sometimes if something interests him. He thrives on attention and positive reinforcement.

Nicky is interested in whatever you are doing, but will not counter surf and is not food possessive.

He gets along very well with the female goldens at his foster home. He and the male are slowly forging a relationship.

Nicky would do best in a home with at least one other dog and a family that is physically active.
