Nine year old Jewel was evidently a princess in her past life. So it's no wonder this petite 22 lb darling was terrified to find herself in a kill shelter after her family divorced.
She spent her first two days in foster care hiding under the bed, but once she realized she wasn't going back to that scary place, she began to warm up to her foster family. She loves to be snuggled and cuddled, and will let you brush her for hours. She never tires of hearing what a good girl she is. She walks perfectly on a leash and would be a great match for an older person who wants a dog that is easy to handle and doesn't require a lot of exercise.
She is still very suspicious and a little afraid of strangers, but she has come a long way in a short time. She gets along well with the other dogs in the home, and has perfect house manners. She would do best in a quiet home with a regular routine and lots of attention.
She appears to have no health issues, she's HW-, and UTD on all vaccines. She'll be a great match for anyone willing to treat her like the royalty she is. All GRRSWF dogs have undergone an full examination by a veterinarian and any health concerns have been addressed. All dogs are current on vaccines, have been tested for heartworm and intestinal parasites, and are provided with monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventatives for the duration of their time with us.
