Learn more about the Golden Retriever.
Lucy was just released by the Humane Society of Naples to our rescue. She is one of the dogs surrendered in July to Collier County Domestic Animal Services. She was the mother of one of the litters of puppies from the puppymill breeder who is now thankfully out of business. She is a very petite, somewhat shy female who has been spayed and and is now ready for her forever home. She will need a special home and a little understanding. She seems better adjusted than some of the other dogs taken from this breeder. So we are very optimistic that she will do well with any new home. She is not fearful and is curious about anyone she meets. Wiith the right environment and handling she will continue to come out of her shell and be a happy, healthy dog. While she was in a foster home she did get out once and ran away. She was found in some nearby woods but she will need to be monitored closely and kept on a leash any time she is outside.
