Penny is a beautiful light blond Golden or Golden mix (we aren't sure yet).  She is an energetic, active dog.  She is a little aloof at first but warms up very quickly once she knows she can trust you.  What a sweet dog she is too.  She is very affectionate and clearly will bond well with someone who treats her well.  

At this point she is very confused.  She is trying very hard to understand what is happening to her and where she belongs.  She doesn't seem to know commands.  She may or may not be a mix.  Our evaluating vet has not given her opinion yet.  Penny is on the small side.  She is 46 lbs and does not seem under-weight.  She does vocalize to get your attention and when she is not getting her way, but when she is with someone she cares for she is quiet and affectionate.  She will do well with an active family that will help her burn off steam.

Penny was very good in the car during her transport.  She clearly enjoyed it.  She took over the passenger seat and rested her head on the driver's hand much of the way. 

Penny seems very healthy.  She is currently with one of our veterinarians for evaluation.  We will run the standard battery of tests on her, treat any issues we find, and make sure all vaccinations are up to date.  She will be a very loving dog for any family lucky enough to adopt her.  She just needs to get to her forever home as soon as possible.

This dog will be going to one of our wonderful Foster Homes for evaluation and lots of love. All of our dogs stay in their Foster Homes for a minimum two week evaluation period, then remain there until their Forever Home finds them.

All GRRSWF dogs have undergone an full examination by a veterinarian and any health concerns have been addressed. All dogs are current on vaccines, have been tested for heartworm and intestinal parasites, and are provided with monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventatives for the duration of their time with us.

Unfortunately, much as we would like to, there are some locations that we are simply unable to cover as we do not have sufficient representation in that area to perform the required home visits prior to the adoption, or follow-up visits afterward.
