Duke came to us on 09/29/10 having been starved and deprived of water. But he's still a true Golden and a lover.

His Foster Home gave us the following report of his first night and their initial observations of him:"Duke had an excellent night.  Here is the bad...

Duke is very very high energy.  He does not have good leash manners at all and gets pretty wild in the house and outside.  He will try to jump the fence if he sees something he wants. 
The GOOD:
Crate trained
Quiet in the house (so far)
responsive (he will do a 'watch me' which makes him very trainable)
a leaner!
a licker!
Seems to be ok with the cat, unless the cat runs then the chase is on"
The attached photos were taken at intake and we will post better ones as soon as he is a little settled, along with more information on his personality.

 

This dog is currently in one of our wonderful Foster Homes for evaluation and lots of love. All of our dogs stay in their Foster Homes for a minimum two week evaluation period, then remain there until their Forever Home finds them.

All GRRSWF dogs have undergone an full examination by a veterinarian and any health concerns have been addressed. All dogs are current on vaccines, have been tested for heartworm and intestinal parasites, and are provided with monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventatives for the duration of their time with us.
