Autumn came to us on 09/14/10 from a local shelter where she had been taken by her former owner. She is a very sweet 5 year-old girl who is being evaluated at the moment. She will need to be spayed and will need a dental before she is ready to go to her forever home.

Autumn is a very sweet, laid back girl.  She loves other small dogs and wants to play with them.  She is a little shy with bigger dogs.  She will walk in another direction rather than getting too close to bigger dogs.  She tucks her tail and show fear.  She is good with cats and is being fostered in a home with a 15 year old cat.  She is good with kids and all people.

We received a report from Autumn's Foster Home, "Foster Mom, T, and her daughter K love Autumn!  They said she is the PERFECT dog :-)  She is great with the cat, walks beautifully on a leash and has impecable housemanners.  She tells them she needs to go out by either going to the door or coming to them and panting while starring at them.  She sleeps in bed with K!  T said K is Autumn's girl!  K is 15 yrs. old.  She is attracted to and loves small dogs but very apprehensive around big dogs or even dogs her size.  She tucks her tail and pulls close to T even when she sees one on the other side of the road.

This dog is currently in one of our wonderful Foster Homes for evaluation and lots of love. All of our dogs stay in their Foster Homes for a minimum two week evaluation period, then remain there until their Forever Home finds them.

All GRRSWF dogs have undergone an full examination by a veterinarian and any health concerns have been addressed. All dogs are current on vaccines, have been tested for heartworm and intestinal parasites, and are provided with monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventatives for the duration of their time with us.

If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs but live outside our usual area of operations, please us know as soon as possible; this will allow us to ascertain whether we have volunteers in your area who would be able to assist in processing your application, and may save you from completing an application that we might be unable to process. Unfortunately, much as we would like to, there are some locations that we are simply unable to cover as we do not have sufficient representation in that area to perform the required home visits prior to the adoption, or follow-up visits afterward.
