Learn more about the Golden Retriever.
Tucker is an 8 year old red boy who, at 50 lbs, is quite small for a Golden Retriever. He will be neutered the week of August 10, and will be ready to go to his forever home about 10 days later. Tuckers foster home tells us that he is a beautifully behaved boy who gets along with everybody from cats to kids. He loves to play fetch with his foster dad every day, and walks very nicely on the leash. Tuckers foster family took him in when an acquaintance was having a hard time and was unable to care for him; the plan was that his owner would get back on his feet and then come to get Tucker. Unfortunately, the owner will not ever be able to reclaim him and his foster home is unable to keep Tucker permanently, much as they would love to. Tucker came to us on 08/05/09 and will be ready for adoption as soon as he's been neutered. All of our dogs stay in their foster homes for a minimum two week evaluation period, then remain there until their forever home finds them. If you are interested in learning more about Tucker, please contact us at applications@grrswf.org for additional information and an adoption application. We serve Southwest Florida from Naples to Sarasota, and beyond if needed. If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs but live outside our usual area of operations, please state that in your initial contact with us. This will allow us to ascertain whether we have volunteers in your area who would be able to assist in processing your application. We very much want to help everyone who is eager to adopt a rescue dog and we do have some amazing volunteers in areas well outside Southwest Florida who are willing to do home visits, but there are some locations that we are simply unable to cover.
