About Savannah

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • General Color: Golden/Chestnut
  • Housetrained: Yes
Savannah is a 16 month old girl (born on the 4th of July 2008). She is quite petite for a Golden and has a dark red coat.
She is very sweet and loves everyone, is great with kids, cats, and other dogs. She is still quite nervous about all the very recent changes in her life but is handling it well. She is very submissive upon first meeting someone but fairly quickly calms down and loves to give little kisses.
Savannah is settling into her new foster home very quickly and has made friends with the other dogs and cats in the house, she's amassing quite the collection of everyone else's toys and is generally charming the socks off the entire household.
Savannah is somewhat underweight and needs to gain several pounds to reach a healthy weight. In spite of having spent much of her life outside, she tested negative for heartworm which was wonderful news. She was spayed on November 10 and is recovering very nicely.
She was surrendered to GRRSWF by her former owner as they were finding little time for her and wanted her to have a better life. She did live with young children and was great with them.
Savannah came to us on 11/09/09 and is currently in one of our wonderful foster homes for evaluation and lots of love. All of our dogs stay in their foster homes for a minimum two week evaluation period, then remain there until their forever home finds them.
If you are interested in learning more about Savannah, please contact us at applications@grrswf.org for additional information and an adoption application.
We serve Southwest Florida from Naples to Sarasota, and sometimes slightly beyond if needed. If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs but live outside our usual area of operations, please us know as soon as possible; this will allow us to ascertain whether we have volunteers in your area who would be able to assist in processing your application, and may save you from completing an application that we might be unable to process. Unfortunately, there are some locations that we are simply unable to cover. Much as we would like to, we are unable to work with families on the East coast of Florida as we do not have sufficient representation in that area to perform home visits prior to the adoption, or follow-up visits afterward.
