Emma has been waiting for her Forever Family for six months now - do you have room in your home and your heart for this very special little girl?

Emma is a very sweet, gentle girl in need of a loving forever home. She was taken to a high kill shelter as a stray, her microchip led them to the owners who said they would come and collect her – they never showed up to claim this special little girl. Emma is a 5 year old Golden Retriever/Shepherd mix who loves car rides, walks and cuddling. She loves her Foster Dad's 9 year old neighbor girl. Emma has expressed serious interest in cats and squirrels so should go to a home with out cats. Can you promise her a home that won’t abandon her? She’s waiting for you.
Emma is currently in a wonderful foster home where she gets all the love and care she needs, but has been waiting there far too long for her Forever Family.
UPDATE 07/06/09: Emma's Foster Dad reports "I have little to say about her other than she is so great! She has completely fit in now and is doing so very well. No problems drama or anything but being a lovable gentle girl." She is very interested in cats, squirrels and rabbits so a home without cats and rabbits is a must - apparently during a visit to a home with a pet rabbit, Emma spent two hours staring into the hutch.
UPDATE: 11/16/09: Emma's Foster Dad tells us: "Emma is a gentle, reserved, playful girl. She likes to go for rides, and walks. If put out in the yard she is content to chase lizards. She is very good with puppies and plays with my 7 month old golden Zeke. (I have attached some photos of her playing) She is very good with other dogs big and small alike. Like most Goldens she is content to snuggle next to you and let you pet her, she will remind you if you are slacking too! While she may be reserved at first she is a very devoted girl. She likes to chew and can demolish a rawhide bone in a very short time, yet only chews her toys. While she is shy with thunder, she goes to lie down under the table without any drama or complaint. Simply, it is thundering so I will go hide now. I have taught her to sit and lay down. She is very well mannered, polite and obedient. A wonderful girl."
