Meet Honey – Sweet, Smart, and Ready to Be Your Loyal Sidekick!
Honey is a stunning 1-year-old English Cream Golden Retriever with a sweet personality and plenty of playful energy. She’s confident, affectionate, and ready to find a home that understands her needs and quirks. She is a velcro girl, so needs a family that is not gone all day.
Honey has a strong prey drive and is not suitable for homes with chickens, cats, or small dogs—she loves to chase and will not be able to live safely with small animals. She’s previously lived with children over 10 and enjoys the company of dog-savvy kids, especially those who can handle a bouncy, enthusiastic pup.
She is still learning her manners—she jumps up on people when excited and pulls on leash, so she’ll need consistent training and a physically strong handler. A fenced yard is required to help her safely burn off energy in a contained space.
According to her former owner, Honey enjoyed playing with large dogs, though we haven’t independently tested that yet. Any potential dog siblings will need a successful meet-and-greet first.
Honey’s Ideal Home:
  • No cats, chickens, or small dogs
  • Children 10+ okay
  • Fenced yard required
  • Physically strong handler with dog experience
  • Active home that provides structure, training, and attention
  • May do well with another large dog (pending meet-and-greet)
Additional information from her foster family:

- She does great in the car.  Jumps up, is calm during the ride, never barks or whines in the car.

- she loves if you throw something her way (like a stick or a ball).  she hasn't quite learned how to bring it back but she would love a chuck it toy i think.

-loves her kong with spray peanut butter in it frozen

- works for treats.  is learning sit consistently.

- is house broken.  no accidents yet.  will whine in the middle of the night if she needs to go out.

-loves to chew on sticks.

-avid lizard chaser!!  your home and yard will be lizard free!!!
