This sweet, handsome little guy came to us as a very malnourished, emaciated, anemic pup, severely underweight and with intestinal parasites, but with a Golden spirit that couldn't be broken. He went to his foster home in April and since then has made a stunning, heartwarming recovery. He is now a healthy 65 pounds and is currently recovering from neuter surgery.
The ideal home for Ace would be the following:
An active family, kids probably ok, although he has never lived with any. He has been fine around the foster's niece and nephew (6 & 8 ) whenever they visit though.
Ace is an active dog (not hyper), not sedentary, unless his battery wears down. Best if someone is home with him during the day. He should NOT be in a home where he is left alone and crated all day. He wants to be with his family.
Fenced yard best so he can run.
Ace is a very affectionate dog. He must have owners who will give him LOTS of affection and frequently. He loves to cuddle and craves attention. He will come up and get in your lap and lay his head on your chest. He loves people and will bond deeply.
Another dog in the home would be very good for Ace, if he or she is willing to have a buddy. Ace loves to play with the young male in his foster home. They play a lot of bitey face, run together in the yard and swim together.
Pool. Ace loves to swim. He dives in from the sides and fetches great. Best if he has someone to swim with.
As his health has improved he has dramatically regained his strength. If he is to go on walks, etc., his owners must be strong enough to handle him. He is not a wild child at all, but he is strong now. So his owners must be able to handle his strength if he pulls.
This is the ideal home for Ace. If you think you qualify, or come close, please go to our website and submit an application.
