Rooster is a 1-year-old Golden Retriever with a gentle soul who just needs a little patience and a lot of love to help her shine. While she's a bit nervous about the outside world and some of life's challenges (like car rides and vet visits), she has so much love to give once she feels safe and secure. Rooster is currently on anti-anxiety medication, which helps her manage her fears, but she's looking for a home that can continue working with her and her sensitive nature.
Rooster would thrive in a home with a confident, friendly dog companion who can show her the ropes and help her feel more comfortable in the world. She is ok with cats. A fenced yard is a must—she loves to run and play once she feels at ease, and trust us, she’s a playful puppy at heart! She does not yet feel comfotable on a leash. While she may start off a little cautious, once she bonds with her people, she’ll want nothing more than to curl up on the couch with you for a snuggle. Rooster is a pro at finding the comfiest spot to sleep—whether that’s next to you or on the furniture (which she absolutely loves!).
If you’re someone who has experience with anxious dogs and can offer Rooster the time, space, and gentle guidance she needs to build confidence, she will reward you with unconditional loyalty and affection.
Rooster’s ideal home is a quiet, patient one where her adopters understand that it will take time for her to feel safe in her surroundings. She needs someone who can be her calm anchor and provide a stable routine. If you have the time to work through her fears and help her grow, you’ll find that Rooster has a playful, loving side that’s waiting to come out.
Adopt Rooster, and let her show you just how sweet life can be when you give a timid soul a chance to blossom.
